Seasonal Transition Tips

Lip Color Layering to Reflect Season Changes

Just as our outfits change with the seasons, our lip colors need subtle adjustments. Because factors like UV exposure and humidity change, the lipstick you regularly use might sometimes feel out of place.

1. Spring to Summer: Saturation Shift

In the intense summer sunlight, bright corals or oranges that are more vivid than the soft corals of spring work better. Try increasing the saturation by one level to bring energy to your entire face.

2. Summer to Autumn: Value Shift

When the cool autumn breeze starts to blow, it's time to switch from clear tints to weighted matte lipsticks. Lowering the color value slightly and choosing brick red or muted rose pink can create that characteristic moody autumn atmosphere.

3. Autumn to Winter: Texture Shift

In dry winters, use high-gloss or balm textures rich in moisturizing ingredients. Use deep and intense burgundy or plum colors, but add a high-gloss texture to complete a sophisticated look without looking dry.

LiPPick Tip

You don't need to buy all new lipsticks. Simply mixing your current colors with a white or black base, or layering with a clear lip balm, allows for subtle seasonal tone adjustments!
